Villa Padierna Racquet Club inaugurates the first croquet lawn in the province of Málaga
On Tuesday, August 14, the Villa Padierna Raquet Club hosted the celebration of the Croquet Tournament of the Costa del Sol, which inaugurated the first fields of this sport in the province.
Villa Padierna thus expands its sporting offer, betting on offering a quality installation with the best professionals. To the three golf courses, with 18 holes, and more than 22,000 m2, was devoted to the practice of paddle and tennis joins the possibility of playing croquet, a sport that has achieved a significant increase in recent years.
The Villa Padierna Racquet Club is on a par with the largest and most prestigious sports clubs in Spain, such as the Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro in Madrid, the Real Club Pineda in Seville and the Vista Vista Golf Club in Seville, among others
This new competition joins the activities organized for the Memorial Countess of Villapadierna, which this year celebrated its XIII edition, and that among other things, includes one of the most established golf tournaments in the region.
The tournament, which was played in pairs, featured players from the best croquet fields in Spain.
Filled with emotion until the last movement of the deck, the current champion of Andalusia, Felipe López de Carrizosa, with his wife and national croquet instructor, María Fernández Pereira, succumbed to the thrust of Francisco del Cuvillo, Count of the 5 Torres, and Carlos Arteaga, Count of Senallo, after more than four hours of competition.
